Team GB set post-war Olympic recordIt was a fantastic Olympics for Team GB as they won 19 golds and 47 medals in total - the highest totals since 1908. Apart from the cycling, the other golden highlights included Ben Ainslie's third Olympic gold in the sailing in three Games. In athletics, Christine Ohuruogu became the first British female athlete to win the 400m title. And in the pool, Rebecca Adlington became the first British female since Anita Lonsbrough to win swimming gold - although it was double joy for the Mansfield star, after victories in the 400m and 800m |
