Stosur reached the semi-finals of the French Open in 2009

Samantha Stosur of Australia thrashed Russia's Vera Zvonareva 6-0 6-3 in the Family Circle Cup final to claim her first triumph on clay.

The fourth seed broke her opponent three times to win the first set in 18 minutes in Charleston, South Carolina.

Stosur, ranked 11 in the world, then led 5-3 in the second before serving out the match for her second WTA title.

"It's always great to play well in any match but to play that well in a final was great," 26-year-old Stosur said.
