World number two Caroline Wozniacki took her unbeaten run to seven matches with victory over Patty Schnyder at the Family Circle Cup in Charleston, USA.

The Dane, who beat Schnyder on the way to winning the Ponte Vedra title last week, came through 6-2 7-5.

Wozniacki, 19, moves on to the last eight where she will play Nadia Petrova, who beat Aleksandra Wozniak 6-2 6-4.

Second seed Jelena Jankovic of Serbia beat Russian Evgeniya Rodina 6-3 6-1.

Seventh seed Vera Zvonareva defeated ninth seed Alona Bondarenko 6-2 6-1, 13th seed Melanie Oudin beat Christina Mchale 6-4 6-0, and eighth seed Daniela Hantuchova battled past Angelique Kerber 6-7 (6-8) 7-5 6-3.

In South Africa, Britain's Elena Baltacha lost 2-6 7-6 6-4 to Jarmila Groth in the quarter-finals of the International Tennis Federation event in Johannesburg.

"Of course I'm disappointed with the loss today," said the Scot. "I felt I didn't play my best tennis and made too many errors, especially on crucial points, but still there's positives to take forwards from this week. Making the quarters means more points banked.

"I'm now taking a few days off to recharge and then start prepping for the clay season - next stop Rome."

Baltacha will play qualifying for Rome and Madrid before taking her place in the main draw of the French Open.
