Even before he was accused and later cleared of using performance-enhancing drugs, Rusedski was no stranger to controversy.
In 2002, he sparked outrage at the US Open when he accused eventual champion Pete Sampras of being "a half-step slow", but that was nothing.
Facing Andy Roddick at Wimbledon in 2003, Rusedski thought a call from a fan had come from a line-judge and stopped playing, thereby losing the point. The Briton let fly at the umpire.
Unfortunately for Rusedski, his expletive-filled rant was broadcast live on television to a nationwide tea-time audience.
