Lions watch - Brian O'Driscoll

Ireland skipper Brian O'Driscoll scores his well-worked try at Croke Park

In one magical moment against France, Brian O'Driscoll showed why is still the most dangerous centre in world rugby.

The classic outside break and step that led to his 48th-minute try was pure class, and a thumping tackle on Lionel Beauxis and perfectly-judged grubber kick showed his all-round game was in rude health.

According to ex-England centre Jeremy Guscott: "O'Driscoll has cemented his place in the Lions side. He was at his best, with tries, tackles and turnovers".

VERDICT: Back to his best. Write off the 2005 Lions skipper at your peril
