Born in Finland, based in Italy,
Charlie Wegelius is probably the least known (to the general sports fan) of the British quintet in this year's Tour.
But cycling aficionados know all about the Liquigas rider, who had his first break with the ill-starred Linda McCartney team.
Wegelius created a huge stir at the 2005 world championships when he chose to help the Italians and not his British team-mate Roger Hammond. British cycling bosses were furious.
But the 29-year-old has developed into a consummate domestique and a fine climber. A breakaway stage win is not beyond him.
