British cyclist Charly Wegelius will ride for Italian team Liquigas next season when they return to the peloton after a three-year absence. Wegelius joins Italian duo Stefano Garzelli and Danilo Di Luca, the team leaders, among 24 riders signed up. Liquigas are among 17 teams accepted so far by the International Cycling Union for their Pro Tour which is is due to kick off in January 2005. A doping scandal in 2001 saw the team suspended from competition.
