BMX - or Bicycle Moto Cross, to give its full name - will become the newest sport to attain Olympic status in Beijing.
The events will take place at the purpose-built Laoshan BMX complex in the west of the city, which boasts a huge start ramp and an array of jumps and obstacles for the riders to negotiate.
The venue has already been completed and hosted the BMX Supercross World Cup in August, where Britain's Shanaze Reade won the women's event.
