The Canadian Grand Prix saw Alonso at the peak of his powers, breaking his North American bogey for a fourth consecutive race win.

The Spaniard led from pole to clinch his sixth victory of the season at the Gilles Villeneuve circuit in Montreal.

Schumacher did well to limit the damage as he stole second from Kimi Raikkonen on the penultimate lap but was still left trailing his Renault rival by a daunting 25 points in the title race.
