F1's rollercoaster race to the title
Hamilton began the second half of the season by moving into a four-point lead in the championship with victory in Hockenheim.
The McLaren driver survived a gamble not to pit during a safety car period following Timo Glock's crash and he easily passed Massa on his way to the chequered flag.
The Ferraris were flat and Massa blamed a lack of pace as he took third with Raikkonen sixth just ahead of Kubica.
