Gymns have secured their first major cup final place

Douglas Royal and Gymnasium will contest the 2011 MBL-sponsored Floodlit Cup final, after both sides came through in the semi-finals on Sunday.

Royals knocked out their Ballafletcher neighbours and current holders Corinthians, thanks to goals from Donna Shimmin (2) and Vicky Worthington.

Meanwhile, Gymnasium secured their first major cup final place, with a 4-1 victory over Castletown.

The final will be played at the National Sports Centre on Sunday.

Gymns' Eleanor Gawne netted a hat-trick and Rachel Beckley was also on target for the Tromode side.

Sarah Denny scored the southerners' consolation.
