Pitt was transfer-listed by former U's boss Gary Brabin
Cambridge United winger Courtney Pitt has said he is pleased to have secured his future at the Abbey.
The 27-year-old was transfer-listed over the summer, but was handed a reprieve after changes were made to certain clauses in his contract.
Pitt told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "When the new manager came in we cleared the air and came up with an agreement which was beneficial.
"He made it clear he wanted me involved in the first team which made it easy."
Pitt has started United's last three matches following the renegotiation of his contact.
It is believed his previous terms included a clause relating to appearances which the club were no longer prepared to honour.
The former Portsmouth, Chelsea and Oxford man was transfer-listed by former boss Gary Brabin and was initially told to find a new club by his replacement Martin Ling.
"I was told to look elsewhere so I had a bit of a look around, but nothing came up and fortunately I got another chance," he said.
Pitt has a year remaining on his current deal at the Abbey.
