Bristol City manager Gary Johnson is hoping to seal some "exciting" signings as he tries to deliver Premier League football next season.

City are preparing for another season in the Championship after last week's play-off final defeat against Hull.

"We've already been speaking to some players and looking to contact a few clubs," Johnson told BBC Radio Bristol.

"We've got some exciting players in mind and we hope that they will improve us again."

But the Robins manager says supporters may have to be patient before any new players arrive at Ashton Gate.

"Lots of representatives like to play hard to get and keep their options open until late on, but we've made contact and we feel we'll be able to announce things pretty soon but we won't rush," he added.
