Tony Vance praises Guernsey's thirst for success

Guernsey senior men's football coach Tony Vance has said his players are eager to return to competitive action following their recent successes.

Vance's squad were honoured on Thursday at the Bailiff's Chambers, to celebrate their NLS Cup and Murrati wins.

Vance told BBC Guernsey: "It's been a fantastic few weeks and in some ways you're pleased it's over.

"But it's almost a little bit flat now and a lot of the guys want to get training again and get started."

He added: "But that's the group of players they are. They're very keen, so we'll have a little bit of a break and then get back into it."

Guernsey beat the Liverpool County Premier League 5-2 to win the FA National League System Cup, before a Ross Allen penalty ensured Vance's men won the Murrati Vase for the first time since 2005.
