GFA chairman Nussbaumer resigns

The chairman of Guernsey's FA has resigned because he says some clubs do not have confidence in his leadership.

Dave Nussbaumer has resigned with immediate effect and will be replaced by vice-chairman Jeff Vidamour.

He has quit in the light of what he describes as "a lack of confidence in his position as chairman from some of the GFA clubs."

Some sides in the island have questioned his plans for changes to the way the sport is run.

Nussbaumer had already said he was not planning to seek re-election at the GFA's annual meeting later this month, but his decision to quit came a day after a heated meeting between the GFA and clubs over plans to change the island's league structure.

Some clubs had opposed the GFA's plans to bring in a 16-23 year-olds league and abolish the current Jackson and Railway leagues.

Mr Nussbaumer has declined to be interviewed about the subject.
