First round - beat Shropshire by seven wickets

Kevin Pietersen, overlooked for the two early Tests against Bangladesh, hammered seven fours and six sixes in his 76 as Hampshire reached their target of 133 in just 21 overs against Shropshire.

Skipper Shane Warne won the toss at Whitchurch and chose to bowl first, Richard Logan striking with the second ball of the match and finishing with 3-37 from his nine overs.

Warne claimed 3-20 from eight overs as the home side were bowled out in the 43rd over.


Second round - beat Glamorgan by six wickets

Nic Pothas struck an unbeaten 114 to guide Hampshire into the quarter-finals with a comfortable win over Glamorgan.

Glamorgan skipper Robert Croft won the toss and chose to bat first, opening the innings himself, but though each of the top seven got a start, none could go on to a big score.

Sean Ervine captured 5-50 and Chris Tremlett wrapped up the innings with his third wicket, while Pietersen was in the runs again, with four more sixes in his unbeaten 69.


Quarter-final - beat Surrey by two wickets

Australian all-rounder Shane Watson made a superb century as Hampshire chased down a huge Surrey total in a feast of runs at The Oval.

Surrey chose to bat and opener Jon Batty remained undefeated on 158 in a mammoth total of 358-6 from 50 overs, Ervine and Tremlett picking up two wickets apiece.

Hampshire lost opener Lamb for a duck but Watson hit 14 fours and three sixes in his 105-ball innings and skipper Shaun Udal saw his team home in the 48th over with 44 from 39 balls.


Semi-final - beat Yorkshire by eight wickets

Sean Ervine hits out during his innings

Exactly 100 from Ervine guided Hampshire to the final with more than 10 overs to spare against Yorkshire at The Rose Bowl.

Ervine was for once wicketless as Yorkshire struggled to 197-7 from their allocation, having been put in by Udal, who claimed 2-33.

John Crawley fell cheaply but Pothas compiled a clam unbeaten 73 and Ervine blasted 12 fours and a six in his 99-ball knock.
