Kevin Pietersen's ball-striking was too much for Shropshire in the C&G Trophy as Hampshire won by seven wickets.

Hampshire inserted the hosts at Whitchurch, and they were in trouble from the off as they totalled just 132.

Seamer Richard Logan returned 3-37 while Shane Warne took 3-20, Jonathan Whitney top-scoring with 39.

In reply, Pietersen's 76 occupied just 49 balls, featuring seven fours and six sixes - the other Hampshire batsmen were merely spectators.
