Defending Yorkshire Premier League champions York Cricket Club have lost all-rounder Ashley Hume for six weeks because of work commitments. Secretary Nick Kay told BBC York: "He's had to take a job in Holland. It's the economic climate we're in, he gets offered a job and he's got to take it. "He's probably been our most consistent performer with bat and ball. "He's scored 600 Yorkshire League runs and taken 30 wickets so it's like losing two players." Hulme scored 108 in his last innings against Barnsley two weeks ago. Kay added: "James Wackett comes in to replace him, he's been doing a really good job in the National Knockout. "We lose the spinning option but James is a good batsman and is more than capable." York go into the weekend fixtures three points behind joint YPL leaders Scarborough and Yorkshire Academy. Scarborough entertain Barnsley, York are at home to Rotherham, and Harrogate welcome Appleby Frodingham to St. George's Road.
