Inzamam delighted by Pakistan win
Danish Kaneria is mobbed by his team-mates
The final wicket prompted joyous celebrations from Pakistan
Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq pronounced himself a "very happy man" following his side's 168-run victory over arch-rivals India in Bangalore.

The 1-1 series result provided partial compensation for Pakistan after losing to India on home soil last year.

"The boys showed great character to come back after losing the second Test," said Inzamam, who was making his 100th Test appearance.

"The bowlers did a fantastic job, it's a momentous victory."

The Pakistan captain admitted the match was one of the most exciting of his career.

"This has certainly been a match to remember," he said.

Drawing this series is a big thing for us because staging a comeback win against the home team is always tough
Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq

"I'm obviously elated, first the century in my 100th Test and now this Test victory.

"We bounced back to draw a series that no one gave us a chance in."

Victory was vital for Pakistan as they had lost seven of their previous 10 Tests and questions were being raised about Inzamam's captaincy.

"This victory is of crucial significance," said the Pakistan captain.

"It will go a long way in boosting Pakistan cricket.

"This is a young team requiring confidence boosters like this victory. Now the players' belief in their ability will go up.

"Drawing this series is a big thing for us, because staging a comeback win against the home team is always tough.

"The whole series was very competitive.

"We came here with a young side, but it gave youngsters a chance to learn - look at the way the bowlers improved during the series."
