Scotland record third win
Ian Stanger
Ian Stanger: Scotland's hero with bat and ball on Thursday
Scotland and Holland head the ICC Six Nations tournament with just one round of fixtures left to play in Dubai.

The Dutch beat the week's surprise package, the USA, by eight wickets while Scotland collected a 36-run victory over winless Canada.

For the Scots, Ian Stanger hit 84 and took 3-11 in two overs and a ball.

Scottish captain Craig Wright told BBC Sport: "Everything's gone well for us since the first match when we didn't play particularly well."

In the other match, Namibia's defeat of the United Arab Emirates left both those teams level with the USA on four points with two wins and two losses.

The winner of the tournament has the honour of playing in the ICC Champions Trophy in England in September against the 10 Test-playing nations plus Kenya.

Only Holland, who gave some strong performances during the 2003 World Cup, and Scotland, who were disappointed not to make that tournament, can now qualify for England.

But in the final round of matches on Saturday, Scotland will need to beat the USA and hope the UAE can beat Holland in order to win the Six Nations.

That is because Scotland's only defeat came against Holland, and although their run rate is superior to the Dutch, results between the individual nations decide who goes through in the event of a tie.
