Scotland bounce back
Following a day one loss to Holland, Scotland fought back strongly to beat Namibia by 93 runs in round two of the ICC Six Nations Challenge.

Scotland won the toss and posted 160-8 off 50 overs in the match at Dubai with Burton Van Rooi snapping up 4-40.

Namibia slumped to 67 all out in reply with Paul Hoffman claiming 4-14.

UAE captain Khurram Khan scored a century as his side beat the USA by five wickets while Holland easily defeated Canada by 67 runs.

It was difficult going for the Scotland batsmen, with Namibia bowling and fielding exceptionally well.

Van Rooi was the pick of the Namibian bowlers with his excellent spell while Gavin Hamilton top scored for Scotland with 40.

Namibia never recovered from sliding to 29-4 with Hoffman claiming the man of the match award for his impressive display.

Fellow seamers Dougie Brown (3-17) and John Blain (3-33) also performed well for Scotland.

"It was great to win this one today, especially after a disappointing loss yesterday," said Blain.

"The boy's are looking forward to a rest and then can't wait to take on UAE on Wednesday."

Scotland's round three encounter against an undefeated and confident UAE side promises to be a terrific contest.

Khurram's hundred for UAE was the first in the tournament as his side romped to comfortable victory over the US.

Chasing 246 to win, UAE were in considerable trouble at 41-4 when Khurram came to the wicket.

He then formed a 159-run stand with captain and Syed Maqsood (65) before ending unbeaten on 103.

UAE reached the target score with four overs remaining.

Steve Masiah scored 92 not out while Rohan Alexander and Clayton Lambert hit half-centuries as the US posted 247-7 off their 50 overs.

Holland rallied to close their innings on 237-7 after stuttering to 124-4 against Canada with opener Feiko Kloppenburg top scoring on 52.

In reply Canada started disastrously losing opener Desmond Chumney, run out for one.

Wickets continued to tumble and Canada were eventually dismissed for 169 in the 42nd over.
