Yasir Hameed and Imran Farhat hit their best scores in one-day cricket as Pakistan effortlessly completed a 5-0 series whitewash over New Zealand.

The home side won the final match, played in Rawalpindi, by 49 runs but will expect a tougher challenge when they visit New Zealand.

Pakistan made 277-4 on Sunday after electing to bat first and took six Kiwi wickets before the close.

For New Zealand, Hamish Marshall ended unbeaten on 62.

Hameed hit 127 not out while Farhat raced to 107 off 112 balls as the home team's openers ran riot.

Their partnership was worth 197 before it was finally ended with the last ball of the 40th over.

In reply, New Zealand began conservatively with little effort to keep the run rate to manageable proportions.

Richard Jones's dour effort of 49 took him nine minutes short of two hours to compile while fellow opener Craig Cumming (17 off 42 balls) scored even more slowly.

Despite apparently making little effort to chase down the target, the Kiwis lost three men to run outs.

Marshall's half-century came off just 66 balls - he was arguably the only brigght spot of the series for New Zealand.

Tama Canning hit 23 not out at the death to add to his two wickets earlier in the day as Pakistan's two centurions bowled the last three of the last four overs between them.
