Pakistan continued their dominance over New Zealand by moving into a 4-0 lead in the one-day series with a seven-wicket win in Rawalpindi.

Shoaib Akhtar led the way with 3-23 as the tourists were bowled out for 183 in 47.5 overs.

Pakistan too 41 overs to complete the victory with Imran Farhat hitting a bright 82.

The under-strength Black Caps have just one match left to avoid a series whitewash.

New Zealand had fielded an experimental line-up in an effort to stem a run of easy wins for Pakistan.

Daniel Vettori, Matthew Walker and Kerry Walmsley all made way for Tama Canning, Daryl Tuffey and Paul Hitchcock.

Craig Cumming was retained at the top of the order and his difficult series continued when he was trapped lbw for a duck off the fifth delivery of the match.

Shoaib did not take any further wickets until the last 10 overs, but New Zealand never got going.

They were 100-6 before any sort of a stand was established, as Chris Cairns and Tama Canning added 43 in seven overs.

But Cairns was bowled two runs short of a half-century attempting to swipe Shoaib Malik for a boundary, and the tail was unable to wag.

Pakistan were unlikely to be pressurised chasing 184 and Farhat in company with Yasir Hameed added 134 easily enough before their partnership was ended in the 27th over.

Canning dismissed Hameed (61) and Azhar Mahmood (4) before running out Farhat as the home side stumbled close to the finish line.

Saleem Elahi took 46 minutes over his unbeaten seven but Shoaib Malik pushed the hosts past the finishing post, hitting three boundaries to finish 16 not out.

Pakistan: Imran Farhat, Yasir Hameed, Saleem Elahi, Yousuf Youhana, Inzamam-ul-Haq (captain), Shoaib Malik, Abdul Razzaq, Moin Khan, Azhar Mahmood, Umar Gul, Shoaib Akhtar.

New Zealand: Chris Cairns (captain), Craig Cumming, Richard Jones, Hamish Marshall, Brendon McCullum, Chris Harris, Mathew Sinclair, Tama Canning, Daryl Tuffey, Michael Mason, Paul Hitchcock.
