First Test, Brisbane, day three (stumps):
India 11-0 v Australia 323
Rain forced a six-hour delay before play began in Brisbane |
India reached 11-0 in reply to Australia's 323 on another day of the first Test cursed by rain.
Just over six overs were possible on day three after the start of play was delayed by six hours.
Australia resumed on 323-9 - but their effort lasted just one delivery.
Stuart MacGill skied the opening delivery from Agit Agarkar and Akash Chopra took a simple catch in gully.
It completed something of a collapse from the Australians who lost their last eight wickets for 55 runs.
Agarkar, one of only two wicket-takers along with Zaheer Khan (5-95), finished with figures of 3-90.
A break in the weather allowed nearly 30 minutes of play in India's reply before more rain fell, and it seems almost certain this match will end in a draw.
Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist insisted there was still a chance of a result.
He said: "There's plenty of life left in the wicket, we've seen that in the short bursts of cricket we've had for the last two days, and you never know.
"We've got 300-odd runs on the board and if our bowlers can do what they've done so consistently for a number of years now and put the ball in the right areas, then we might have a chance."
