If anyone was going to try to challenge gold position, it was Matej Svancer. He has brought Austria to its feet.

He stands up like a soldier on the landing!

Austria's Matej Svancer needs to improve his first attempt by more than five points to challenge leader Tormod Frostad - and he might just have done it, you know!

Roars in the BBC commentary box as he lands a 2160.

It's 96.00 - so close, but he's into silver medal position!

Troy Podmilsak of the United States is the only man who can disturb the current top three - oh it's brilliant!

But is it enough?

No - it's 94.00... which keeps him in fourth spot.

So the medallists are locked in, but will the order change?

World champion Luca Harrington has his head down and a disappointed look on his face. A tiny error on the landing leaves him with a modest third-run score and well short of the podium places.

Didn't quite rotate enough for the 1980 and he's out of medal contention as well.

Dylan Deschamps did not look in the zone. His face was not filling you with confidence.

As soon as he opened his body up, it slowed his rotation down completely.

Canadian Deschamps won't be winning a medal and neither will American Konnor Ralph, despite a brilliant 2160 scoring 91.50 with his final attempt.

Hello Pete and Luca - we've done some quick research...

In the past it wasn't a requirement so you had a mix of pole users and non-users. But the rules were changed at the start of the 2023-24 season.

Apparently, using poles increases the difficulty of tricks, particularly grabs, so it levels the playing field.

Austria's Matej Svancer joins the party with a 95.25 to follow his 91.75.

He's into second place for a brief moment but he needs to find more than five points to overhaul leader Tormod Frostad.

Mac Forehand registers a second consecutive score of 95.00 to split Frostad and Svancer (pictured) on 190.00 overall.

Tormod Frostad has set such a standard with his first two runs that his fellow competitors are having to go for broke to stay in the hunt for gold.

Birk Ruud, the defending champion, falls on his second attempt.
