    Bobsleigh - two-man (run three)

Germany are on course for another 1-2-3 after previously sweeping all of the medals in Beijing in 2022 and at the 2025 World Championships.

Here’s how the top five looks heading into run three:

    1. Johannes Lochner/Georg Fleischhauer (Germany) – 1:49.90
    2. Francesco Friedrich/Alexander Schuller (Germany) – 1:50.70 (+0.80)
    3. Adam Ammour/Alexander Schaller (Germany) – 1:51.14 (+1.24)
    4. Frankie del Duca/Joshua Williamson (USA) – 1:51.24 (+1.34)
    5. Mihai Cristian Tentea/George Iordache (Romania) – 1:51.38 (+1.48)

Great Britain’s Brad Hall and Leon Greenwood (replacing Taylor Lawrence) are in eighth position (1:51.54), trailing the leaders by 1.64 and 0.4 seconds off the podium.

Five minutes to go in the final period. It's very congested in the middle third but Denmark's Lars Eller manages to jink his way through.

Netminder Lukas Dostal pouches the shot. There'll be a face-off in Czech Republic's third.

Bruce Mouat's rink actually got some good news earlier today when the United States lost to China.

That actually moved Team GB above the Americans in the standings and into the semi-final slots.

The US are back on the ice tonight against hosts Italy in what could be an epic, while another last-four contender Norway play defending champions Sweden, who are already out.

Will be lots of peeking at scoreboards on other sheets going on, you suspect.

  5. Who are the medal favourites?published at 17:57 GMT

Germany’s Francesco Friedrich is the defending champion, winning two-man and four-man gold at the past two Games, and a nine-time world champion in this discipline.

However, he and Alexander Schuller are currently in second place and might have to settle for silver with a deficit of 0.80 seconds to overturn.

The current leaders are Johannes Lochner and Georg Fleischhauer.

Lochner, who is due to retire after this Olympics, won two silver medals in Beijing four years ago and also had two second-place finishes at the 2025 World Championships (alongside Fleischhauer). The pair were two-man world champions in 2023 and are the reigning European champions.

Germany are on course to complete a 1-2-3 for the second Olympics in a row, with Adam Ammour and Alexander Schaller in the bronze medal position as things stand.

Figure Skating - Women's short program

The women's short program tonight starts with two Individual Neutral Athletes (AIN) - representatives of countries which have been banned from competing at Milan-Cortina 2026.

The second of them is particularly notable - 18-year-old Adeliia Petrosian, the Russian national champion.

The teenager is under the tutelage of controversial Eteri Tutberidze - the coach of Kamila Valieva at the last Olympics, and whose involvement with the Georgia figure skating team helped win the country's first ever Winter Olympic medal with pairs silver last night.

Petrosian has not been able to compete internationally because of the ban on Russian athletes by the International Skating Union, so it will be interesting to see how she performs here.

Curling - GB men v Canada (18:05 GMT)

    Richard Winton

Right then, things have got a bit serious for Team GB's men here in Cortina.

Three defeats in their first seven games have left the world champions scrambling to make the semi-finals.

But their fate is still in their own hands. Win tonight against Canada, and beat the United States tomorrow, and they will be in the medal-matches. Let's get it done...

GB face Canada in crucial contestpublished at 17:54 GMT

    Men's curling - round robin

There's a big evening ahead for Great Britain's men in the curling.

Monday's loss to Norway means GB go into their final two matches against Canada and the United States with a 4-3 winning record.

They are currently fourth in the standings, with four teams to go through to the semi-finals.

Tonight they face Canada who, despite the controversy that has surrounded them during these Games, have won five of their six matches.

Another GB loss wouldn't be terminal to their chances of qualification, but it's an outcome they'll be desperate to avoid.

Two new ice hockey fans here. Very disappointed with Oliver Bjorkstrand failing to score at the end of P2. Cheering on Denmark tonight. Loving learning about hockey and appreciate the commentary team's explanations!

A limp powerplay from Denmark. They didn't really challenge Lukas Dostal's net.

Into the final 10 minutes, the score remains Czech Republic 3-2 Denmark.

If this scoreline is unchanged heading into the final two or three minutes, we could see Denmark pull their goalie in favour of a 6 v 5 outfield skater advantage (which is one of my favourite hockey-isms).

Coming up shortly in Cortina it’s runs three and four in the two-man bobsleigh, with a gold medal to be won from around 20:00 GMT.

The two-man teams completed their first two runs on Monday, with two more to come today. The pair with the fastest overall time wins. Easy peasy.

Great Britain do have a pair competing but their medal hopes are close to non-existent. Not only are they in eighth place and 0.4 seconds off the podium, but brakeman Taylor Lawrence has withdrawn due to injury.

Leon Greenwood will join pilot Brad Hall but the priority now is the four-man event.

    Run timings

    • 18:00 GMT – run three
    • 20:05 – run four (gold medal run)

Men's ice hockey - Czech Republic 3-2 Denmark

Oh, this could be a huge moment. Czech Republic's Radko Gudas is penalised for a quite needless hit on Denmark goalkeeper Frederik Andersen.

With a little under 12 minutes to go in the final period, Denmark are on the powerplay. Remember, they scored on the powerplay in the second period...

Denmark need an equaliser to take this playoff match into overtime but it's been Czech Republic who've looked most like scoring.

Phebe Bekker says the mood in the Team GB figure skating squad is positive, despite missing out on the medals so far in Milan.

Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson, who won ice dance bronze at the World and European Championships, finished seventh following an error in their free dance.

“We have seen time after time that everyone is human at these Olympics, making human mistakes," said Bekker, also part of the GB ice dance team with partner James Hernandez.

"Being there for each other and supporting each other as friends more than teammates, it’s such a hard sport.”

For Hernandez, these Games have been a much more pleasurable experience than the 2025 European Championships, where a bout of food poisoning had put his participation in doubt.

“I remember Luke [Digby] waking up from a nap to go and get me electrolytes and bananas," he said.

"Being there for anyone who needs us is part of it; there are 10 of us in our accommodation, versus teams with over 50. We are a close-knit group, being part of Team GB. We want to be there for our teammates, good or bad.

“Nothing proves athletes are human before all else than Olympic Games. People are called unbeatable, are very beatable. People like to think we can press copy and paste every time, that’s not the reality. There are emotions you feel which are not normal when you are skating on the rings."

    Bobsleigh - two-man

    Jess Anderson

Team GB's Taylor Lawrence will not be in the bobsleigh with pilot Brad Hall this evening with Leon Greenwood taking his place.

Lawrence has been struggling with injury all season and, with GB currently eighth and medal chances looking unlikely, the team have decided it is not worth risking the fitness of Lawrence with the four-man event to come later this week.

I'm not sure how Denmark's Frederik Andersen has denied David Pastrnak there. He ended up flat on his back, inside his own goal and looking up at the crossbar - but the puck didn't make it across the line.

Figure skating: women's singles (short program)

It's all happening in Milan. The ice hockey is into the third period and in under 15 minutes, the figure skating women's singles event will get under way.

29 skaters will complete their short program tonight, with the top 24 advancing to Thursday’s free skate. The gold medal will be awarded to the skater with the highest combined score.

Japan’s Kaori Sakamoto, who responded to winning bronze in Beijing with three consecutive World Championship golds, reigning world champion Alysa Liu (USA), and Japan’s Mone Chiba (bronze medallist at the 2025 World Championships) are among the medal favourites.

Team GB are represented by Kristen Spours, a two-time national champion who finished 22nd at the 2025 World Championships. Spours, who underwent disc herniation surgery in 2025 and later took a physical and mental health break from the sport, will retire at the end of this season.

She will be on the ice around 18:15 GMT.
