Luton were comprehensive victors at Wycombe with a dominant 4-1 display to spoil a day of celebration for Tom Hounsell.

Goals from Kasey Palmer, Nahki Wells, Jamie Donley and Devante Cole were more than enough against a home side who announced Hounsell as permanent head coach before the game.

The visitors were on top from the start and their pressure paid off on 15 minutes, when Palmer directed his shot into the top corner to give them a deserved lead.

Luton doubled their lead with a superb Donley effort on 28 minutes that nestled into the top right of the goal.

Their third came less than a minute after the restart, when Wells turned in Donley's low cross from close range.

The fourth for Luton arrived with six minutes of regulation time left – Conor Hazard blocked an Emilio Lawrence shot with his foot, only for Cole to tap in.

An injury-time consolation for Wycombe via Jack Grimmer was not nearly enough to spoil the visitors' day.
