AFC Wimbledon boss Johnnie Jackson said goalkeeper Josef Bursik "answered all the questions" posed of him in the 1-0 win over Doncaster.

Bursik, 26, arrived on loan from Portsmouth on transfer deadline day and has kept clean sheets in his first two matches for the Dons.

"They [Doncaster] are probably wondering how they haven't scored a goal," Jackson told BBC Radio London.

"The reason they haven't scored is because we put our bodies on the line, we made blocks when we needed to, our goalkeeper's made saves and we generally worked unbelievably hard to keep the ball out of the net.

"Joe is a top keeper. I wasn't just going to bring in a goalkeeper for the sake of it.

"But if there was an opportunity to bring someone [in] that I felt could improve us and make us a stronger unit, then I would take it.

"The opportunity to sign Joe came up and we took it. He does most things very well, he's got a good temperament and it's started well for him.

"There are going to be tougher days but [against Doncaster] he was put under a lot of pressure and he answered all the questions."

AFC Wimbledon midfielder James Tilley will be assessed after sustaining a suspected hamstring injury in the 2-0 win at Bromley on Monday.

The 28-year-old set up Jayden Stockley's opening goal in the eighth minute, but went off 20 minutes later.

"It looks like a hamstring, with the way he pulled up and felt it," Dons boss Johnnie Jackson told BBC Radio London.

"How severe [it is] I don't know yet, we'll have to assess him over the next couple of days.

"[It's a] blow because he started the game really well [with] a great ball in for Jayden's goal and he was popping up in some interesting areas for us on the pitch.

"It's a shame for him and probably the only dampener on the night."

AFC Wimbledon manager Johnnie Jackson says he will look into any "underlying reasons" behind a disparity in defensive performance between home and away games.

The Dons lost 4-1 at Burton Albion on Wednesday, and were beaten 3-0 away at Huddersfield Town in their opening league game.

By contrast, they kept clean sheets in their first two home matches against Reading and Wigan Athletic.

"It's something that I'll have to look at because we've conceded seven away from home and haven't conceded any at home," he told BBC Radio London.

"There's obviously a big disparity there and I'm sure there are some underlying reasons behind that, but it's difficult for me to say right this second.

"There will certainly be things that we got wrong [at Burton]. But what is the difference between playing at home and playing here?"

AFC Wimbledon have signed experienced defender Andy Yiadom on a five-month deal until January 2027.

The 34-year-old has made almost 400 appearances across the three divisions of the EFL, including playing under Edgar Davids at Barnet.

He played 177 games for the Bees, before a free transfer to Barnsley in 2016, captaining the Tykes during the 2017-18 season.

The Ghana international joined Reading in May 2018 and in eight years at the Berkshire club made 253 appearances and picked up the player of the season award in 2021-22.

He told the club website:, external "I'm grateful for the opportunity to play for Wimbledon and I'm ready to give my all for the team. I'm really excited to get involved in the games that we have coming up."

Manager Johnnie Jackson added: "Andy has been training with us for a number of weeks and has really impressed. He has vast experience of the level, brings character and leadership and much needed cover in defensive positions."
