Barnsley have confirmed Kacper Lopata has left the League One club to join Polish side Lechia Gdansk.

The 24-year-old centre-back joined the Reds on a four-year deal in 2023 and played 17 times for the club but has not featured in the past two seasons.

His departure is part of a defensive overhaul by head coach Daniel Stendel with the club heavily linked with 22-year-old Blackburn Rovers' centre-back Connor O'Riordan.
