Match Facts
This is the first ever meeting between Go Ahead Eagles and Sporting Braga, and the Dutch side’s first ever game against a Portuguese side in Europe.
Sporting Braga have kept a clean sheet in all three UEFA Europa League games against Dutch teams (W2 D1), keeping two against FC Groningen in 2015-16 and one versus Feyenoord earlier this season.
After winning two of their first three games in this season’s UEFA Europa League, Go Ahead Eagles have since lost each of their last four, one of just three sides to lose all four matches since MD4, along with Malmö FF and Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Coming into MD8 in fifth place, two points clear of ninth, Sporting Braga are looking to qualify for the last 16 of the UEFA Europa League for the fourth time, after 2010-11, 2015-16 and 2021-22. Prior to 2025-26, the only Portuguese clubs to reach that round more often than Braga are Benfica (6) and Sporting CP (5).
Go Ahead Eagles have had 17 direct attacks against them in the UEFA Europa League this season, the most of any side, also conceding a joint-high three goals from direct attacks (also Dinamo Zagreb). However, Sporting Braga have recorded just four direct attacks themselves, with only Nottingham Forest (2) having fewer in 2025-26.
