Sturm Graz and Brann have never met before in European competition – the Austrian side have won both of their previous home games against Norwegian teams, beating FK Haugesund and Bodø/Glimt in August 2019 and August 2025 respectively in European competition’s qualifiers.
Brann were knocked out of UEFA Champions League qualifying by Austrian side FC RB Salzburg earlier this season 5-2 on aggregate (1-4 home, 1-1 away), their only previous games against a team from Austria.
Sturm Graz have failed to score in six of their last 10 home major European matches, including each of their last two in the UEFA Europa League. 50% of their eight goals in this time came in the same game, a 4-1 win over Slovan Bratislava in February 2024.
