  2. 'Everyone knows we are in a relegation battle'published at 17:12 GMT

    FT: Tottenham 0-3 Nottm Forest

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham coach Bruno Saltor, speaking to BBC Match of the Day in manager Igor Tudor's absence: "Igor is not here for family issues, so thought the best way to do is him not taking the press today. We just respect it.

"If we focus on the result today, it's a tough one to take. It's a really difficult one. If you focus on the last two games and the performance in the first half today, we were much better. But small details are going against us right now. The key is how we can be consistent with our performances throughout the 90 minutes.

"The players care and they get affected. We need to be stronger than that. We need to be focussed on what we want to do. We need to keep improving and getting better.

"We are in a relegation battle. Everyone knows. We are conscious of it. The players, they know. The most important thing is to be together. The fans showed they were next to us. From the start to the finish,, they were outstanding. We felt the support. For us, we need to be stay connected. We need to get even closer when there are problems like a family. That's the message.

"Still 21 points to play for. We have shown we can compete against any team. We need to keep improving and getting better to get those points."

  3. 'The false dawn against Liverpool papered over no cracks for me'published at 17:10 GMT

    Tottenham 0-3 Nottingham Forest

    Paul Robinson
Former Tottenham goalkeeper on 5 Live at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

From Tottenham’s point of view, there was a lot of fighting spirit in the first half, encouraged by a jubiliant crowd who wanted to support their team. But when you go to support your team like that you have to give something back, which didn’t last.

For all their pressure and territory in the first-half, you felt that the longer this game went on, and they couldn’t convert, it was slipping away from them. In the second half they were tactically weak, they were devoid of ideas, and the manager changed the personel two or three times, and there was nothing there today to suggest that they can get out of that mess.

That result, and the false dawn against Liverpool papered over the cracks for me. It was the worst result they could have, because a point was no good and it kept him in a job. The performance against Atletico Madrid, put that to one side, because they didn’t come here to play, they didn’t come here to win that game.

Rewind 10 days when Tottenham, came back from Atletico, there was question marks about his job, which is where we are now.

Before this game I thought we needed to stick with Tudor. But the formation choice, again playing players out of position, leaving out experienced players like Palhinha and Gallagher and then panicking to change system twice again - not sure we have a chance like this.

  5. 'Watkins could get back in Tuchel's thoughts'published at 17:07 GMT

FT: Aston Villa 2-0 West Ham

    Danny Murphy
    Match of the Day pundit

Thomas Tuchel knows Ollie Watkins pretty well and he's seen a bit of him already so maybe not everybody who's left out [of the England squad] is completely out of his thoughts.

He just wants to look at some of the lads he hasn't seen before. So I think Watkins will be hoping that's the case.

One thing with Watkins, you can always rely on is his endeavour and his willingness to keep running the channels and keep doing the right things for the team. And that's a huge thing that Tuchel will keep an eye on. I don't think he's completely out of it yet. Calvert Lewin's not been scoring. Solanke’s been struggling. So goals between now and the end of the season could easily get Watkins back in Tuchel’s thoughts.

You can’t really change what's going on in the manager's mind other than playing well and scoring goals. So for Watkins today, I think that'll be a big relief for him to get back scoring. And he's still got a lot of time to get his form right back up there because we know how good he is.

He’s scored big goals for England before and that experience he's got over the other two I've just mentioned as well would also go in his favour if he's playing well. So all is not lost for him.

  6. Villa 'very motivated' for season finalepublished at 17:03 GMT

FT: Aston Villa 2-0 West Ham

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We are delighted with how we played and how the players responded to the challenge we set. We have been consistent but the last month we have been struggling to get points and not really playing like we have been during the season. Today we played a fantastic game. We needed to recover our good form playing in our style.

"The players now are very proficient. They know they must rest after each match, eat good food and then be ready to play the next game. Today they responded fantastic.

"We are very motivated in the Premier League to be in the top five positions and in the Europa League we are excited to get something."

On Ollie Watkins: "He is a fighter. He is always doing his tasks and doing his tasks I am always delighted with him. Then it's numbers. Today he scorede but he must be consistent in his mentality to do his tasks and get his numbers. To be in the national team it is something every players wants but he must continue working and give the coach trouble [picking] for the next World Cup."

Nottingham Forest goalscorer Morgan Gibbs-White, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "Massive three points for us, especially with how the Premier League table looks now.

"The boys were absolutely incredible. Tottenham are a really good team and they started playing better than us. We needed to be together as a team and we showed that. But as soon as we got the second goal, we got that edge to breathe a little bit.

"They have got incredible talent but we showed that fight, hunger and desire more than them. When we had our chances, we took them. It was a perfect time to score the opener that allowed us to play the football again.

"I am pleased how the week has gone and the boys deserved it. Taking a win today going into the international break is perfect for us. We can all relax a bit and hit the ground running with positive vibes coming into the next weeks."

  8. Watkins is a 'fighter'published at 16:57 GMT

FT: Aston Villa 2-0 West Ham

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery, speaking to Sky Sports: "It is very difficult to win matches in the Premier League. Today I am delighted with how the players responded. We set them a challenge not only to win but to feel confidence in our structure. In the first half it was maybe the best half we have played here this year.

"We stopped them and we did everything like we planned. We needed at home to recover our confidence and energy, to be consistent over 90 minutes and to win. We are very motivated for the rest of the season for the Europa League and to be in the top positions in the league.

"We are working a lot on set pieces and the players responded fantastic. The objective after the break is to keep doing what we are doing now."

On Ollie Watkins: "He is a fighter and today he played a fantastic game. He deserved to score. He was fighting with the centre back and was close to scoring and he was pushing and helping us be in the attacking third. Holding up passes offensively and then he had to get in the opponents box to score the sort of goal he got.

"Now he must be focused with us to recover his confidence and numbers. Getting his numbers again he will be close to being back with the national team."

  9. 'Forest played with personality and organisation'published at 16:57 GMT

    FT: Tottenham 0-3 Nottm Forest

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest boss Vitor Pereira, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We started with a good level. But after 15-20 minutes, we started to lose a lot of possession, second balls and duels. We conceded a lot of set-pieces. We suffered until half-time.

"In the second half, I asked them to be themselves and play at our level. I asked them to play the same way we started the game and told them something will happen. And I am happy that they played with personality and organisation. It was an important win.

"I have a team that have the quality to play with the ball. But it's difficult to play in our way if you lose the ball often. Tottenham were very aggressive in the duels. It was not our intention to defend but they pushed us. We had some luck till half-time.

"But it was a good time to score the opener. We studied our opponents during the set-pieces and we scored. Set-pieces and even throw-ins are very important at the moment as in football, in every situation, we can get a goal.

"After the [Europa League game] in Denmark, it was important to rest. I tried to balance the energy. The players who played against Midtjylland and today showed that they have the quality to face the next games.

"For me, it's just three points. We got it. Next game, we have the chance to do it again. And we need to go there to get those points again. This will go on until the end of the season."

  10. 'It is painful, it is a sad day'published at 16:55 GMT

    FT: Tottenham 0-3 Nottm Forest

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham captain Cristian Romero, speaking to Sky Sports: "The season is tough, especially in this moment. Another very bad [result] for us, another lose the game at home. The first thing is for the fans is thank you for today and every day as they stay with us.

"The situation is tough but most important thing is play like a final now. It is a bad season, obviously the first responsibility is with me.

"For me the first thing is when we play here with Atletico Madrid and fantastic game. The first half we were good but the second half we lost the confidence and lose the ball.

"It is painful, it is a sad day but the most important thing is go national team then come back here for the final seven finals."

  11. 'It is painful, really painful'published at 16:48 GMT

    FT: Tottenham 0-3 Nottm Forest

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham coach Bruno Saltor, speaking to Sky Sports about why he has stepped in for Igor Tudor: "Personal matters, family matters and I am stepping in as it is not right time for him to speak.

"Every mistake right now is going against us, every detail is going against us and it affects the players as well.

"You can see how much they are fighting. We are in a difficult situation, everyone knows. In the first half we were the better team and need to be consistent with that.

"We were 1-0 down and wanted to be a little more aggressive with players coming back from injuries. It didn't work as planned but it was our intention.

"It hurts us, it is painful, really painful, but the fans were outstanding today - from before the game until the end of the game.

"We need to carry on because we care, we care for Spurs, we are family and want to get out of this situation.

"I am 100% sure we can get through this situation."

  12. 'We were never comfortable'published at 16:44 GMT

FT: Aston Villa 2-0 West Ham

    West Ham United

West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It was not a good performance. In the first half we were never comfortable, we were not able to run, press and lost a lot of duels. I never felt the team was in the right place. Slight improvement in the second half but overall we lost against a good team that was better than us.

"It is always unfortunate to lose a player in the warm up. It changes things and then we took too long to settle down our game.

"In recent weeks we have been really good but I never felt the team was comfortable. We are wishing our players return from international duty healthy and we go again."

  13. 'We are alive, committed and ready to fight'published at 16:39 GMT

    FT: Tottenham 0-3 Nottm Forest

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest boss Vitor Pereira, speaking to Sky Sports : "It means the spirit of the team, the character and the personality. It was not easy.

"We started the game in a good way, after 15-20 minutes we started to lose some long balls - the first ball, the second ball. They cross a lot and they play aggressive on the duels.

"The first half was difficult but at half time I asked the team to play the way they started the game as that was our game.

"They showed their personality, character and quality and we deserved to win.

"They have the spirit to face this kind of game. It is not just about this game, it is about the next seven games and we need to have this personality. In the end I am very happy with the team and the supporters because they deserve it. They provided the energy we needed to get the three points.

"Sometimes we create a lot of chances but don't score. We have quality to score goals. We cannot create a monster in our minds because sometimes we create one chance and score a goal.

"It is good for the moment and good for the belief because we need to believe in ourselves. It is not about Tottenham, it is not about West Ham, it is not about Leeds it is about us. It is about what we want for next season.

"We are alive, we are committed and we are ready to fight."

  14. 'We have a lot of work to do'published at 16:35 GMT

FT: Aston Villa 2-0 West Ham

    West Ham United

West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo, speaking to Sky Sports: "It is always a problem to lose a player in the warm up. It changes things, we had to change shape and then in the first half we arrived late on the press and there were many things we did wrong.

"We lost the game against a good team. They were better and stronger than us. At half-time we made some changes, we slightly improved but not enough to change the game.

"It is not good going to the international break with this feeling. It is realising that we must do better. We have a lot of work to do. We didn't play good, we have to react, do things better and we are in the fight. It is a moment to reflect and realise we have to do much better. I think the fans today felt disappointed with us and that is what hurts the most."

On Crysencio Summerville: "We are assessing day by day. He is improving but it is too soon to tell the exact date he will return but hopefully he returns and gives us a hand."

  15. 'It was all about fight and determination'published at 16:32 GMT

    FT: Tottenham 0-3 Nottm Forest

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson speaking to Sky Sports: "Away from home, it's always tough playing in front of their fans. It was all about the fight and determination today. And to a man, everyone was amazing.

"Everyone worked hard and we scored three good goals. It's just a huge boost of confidence for us. Going into the international break and with a little bit of rest to freshen things up and be ready for the next stretch."

  16. 'We have to keep fighting'published at 16:30 GMT

FT: Aston Villa 2-0 West Ham

    West Ham United

West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen, speaking to Sky Sports: "They created a lot of opportunities that we didn't do well enough with our shape. They played well between our lines. At 1-0 you know you are in the game and we had a couple of half chances and then they get the second which killed the game.

"Injuries can happen at any moment. You don't want to look at excuses and try and blame that. I think we have to accept the performance was not good enough and put it behind us now.

"We need to focus on ourselves. Regardless of the result today we have to focus on ourselves. We have to go to the break now and come back for a big end to the season. You have to hold your hands up and say they were better than us on the day which is horrible to admit but we weren't at the races for whatever reason.

"We feel like we are still in a good place, we can't let this put down all the work we have done to get here. It has not been a good season at all for us but we have to keep fighting to stay in the Premier League."

  17. 'We defended with our lives today'published at 16:29 GMT

    FT: Tottenham 0-3 Nottm Forest

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest goalscorer Morgan Gibbs-White speaking to Sky Sports: "It's absolutely a huge result. There was a lot of worry going into this game and about the outcome. But the boys were incredible.

"We defended with our lives today. We knew we needed to bring that fire, energy and commitment and the boys showed that in abundance today.

"I was delighted we got the three points because it creates some gap now. But we can't just focus on that. We need to keep looking forward and keep focussing on the next game."

On his goal: "I can't say it was written in the stars. I am just doing my best to help this team. I have shown that since the first day of coming here. It's not been clean sailing. But we all stick together - the manager, the owner, the fans and the players.

"I am delighted to be on the scoresheet but more importantly, it's the three points won. Taking three points here and having a bit of time off now to get relaxed and get ready for the fixtures that is to come. I can't wait for a few days off now."

West Ham remain in the relegation zone but defeat for Tottenham felt like a real psychological blow for them.

  19. 'We knew the job in hand'published at 16:23 GMT

FT: Aston Villa 2-0 West Ham

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins, speaking to Sky Sports: "Massive for us with it being the last game going into the international break and all the teams around us playing before and them dropping points. We knew the job in hand and we have taken it and maximised our opportunity to try and get into the Champions League places."

On his goal: " It was sweet because I had quite a few opportunities. The ball just fell to me nicely and I have done well to lift it over the keeper.

"We are happy with that off the back of a bit of poor form. It is one of the best performances we have had this season."

On missing out on the England squad: "Everyone wants to play for their country but I expected that ebcause my form has not been that great. I know what I can do and when I put on an England shirt I feel like I have always performed well."

There’s no such thing as an easy match anymore in the Prem, but I really don’t see where Spurs' next win is going to come from.
