This is a Birmingham side that are pushing for promotion in WSL 2, so they have high standards of their own that they want to set. Of course they have to be pragmatic in their approach, they don't want to leave themselves too open or exposed.

It's a good set back from Coombs into Fujino on the edge of the box. She just wants to place her shot but she doesn't get enough power behind it.

Laura Coombs lays the ball off to Aoba Fujino on the edge of the box but her shot is easily saved by Lucy Thomas.

Fujino didn't get as much power on the effort as she would have liked.

Manchester City are really patient in their attack. As Hemp puts in the cross you see Coombs get free and she can't quite direct her header goalwards.

Lauren Hemp is free on the left and put in a teasing ball which Laura Coombs heads wide.

The Birmingham City defence did well to ensure she didn't have a free header.

It's been a really positive start for Birmingham. They want to win every first and second ball that they can.

Despite going behind, Birmingham City have not let their heads drop.

They are getting forward at every opportunity and trying to unsettle Manchester City.
