Solihull missed out on automatic promotion from the National League as they were held to a draw at Dagenham & Redbridge.
They had to win to stand any chance of topping the table but fell behind early in the second half at Victoria Road when Conor Wilkinson chipped Ryan Boot in the first minute of the second half.
In a pulsating encounter, Wilkinson then hit the bar, and the visitors profited as Terry Hawkridge released Jermain Hylton, whose shot ricocheted in off Nathan Smith.
Dagenham's Angelo Balanta then had a penalty saved by Boot after Wilkinson was brought down by Harry Flowers.
Leyton Orient's point against Braintree put the league title beyond Solihull, who finish second.
