  1. Robinson delighted by 'clinical' Sussexpublished at 15:51 BST

    Leicestershire 245 & 258 v Sussex 361 & 364

    Ollie RobinsonImage source, Shutterstock

Sussex captain Ollie Robinson praised his team for a "pretty clinical performance" after they beat Leicestershire by 222 runs at Grace Road earlier this afternoon.

"There wasn't really any member of the team that didn't do something in the game, and I think that shows that the team's in a great place," the England seam bowler said afterwards.

"Tom Clark and Henry Crocombe were unbelievable for us. It was nipping quite a lot the first day, and we kind of thought that 250 was probably par. The openers got us off to a flyer and for Clarkey to follow that up with 100 was sublime.

“Then Henry came and did what he does, I suppose. We know that he's got high pace, and I think over this winter he's been learning a bit more about his skill and his control. And I think there's a lot more to come from him.

“And then we had a really important partnership with Tom Price and Jack Carson. We were at probably a point there where it could have given Leicestershire a bit of momentum, but they just well and truly put it to bed and put the chase out of reach.

“Myself, I felt in the first innings that I bowled really nicely and picked up some vital wickets at key times. I really enjoyed being captain and part of that was sort of figuring out how I use myself.

"The only reason I didn’t bowl today was that I had a plan in my head about who to use when and I was going to bring myself on with the new ball, which of course we didn’t need in the end."

  2. Tea at Wantage Roadpublished at 15:48 BST

    Northants 258 & 144-7 v Lancs 384 & 194

A frustrating session for the Red Rose which has finished with George Bartlett unbeaten on 56 and Lewis McManus on 9. The momentum since lunch has been with Northants.

Five wickets fell in the first session but Northants have dug in against the old ball claiming that one with 81 runs added for the loss of James Sales.

George Bartlett batted well for his half century – a 15th of his first class career – and it could now be that Lancs just rattle through the 16 overs left with this old ball as quickly as possible.

You cannot see the tail lasting against Tom Bailey and Jimmy Anderson with a new ball but how quickly can they get there. An hour perhaps? That could make things tight if this pair stay together.

I feel as if i’d much rather be Yorkshire than Glamorgan at this point

    Olly, Leeds

The catches Foakes makes, and the runs he stops are surely worth 10 runs an innings. He is also a point of difference in the England team with tenacious batting. Smith needs to be pickable with the bat alone to play for me.

  4. Tea at Tauntonpublished at 15:45 BST

Notts 86-0 - need 417 to win at Somerset

Ben Slater and Haseeb Hameed have negotiated the session successfully, after withstanding a lot of early pressure from the Somerset seamers with the new ball.

Slater has 60* with his skipper playing a supporting role with 23*.

It looks like they have settled for a share of the spoils with the required rate drifting towards double-figures, but you know they'll be discussing it over cucumber sandwiches for the next 15 minutes.

  5. Tea at CLSpublished at 15:43 BST

Kent 100-3 - need 357 to win at Durham

Colin Ackermann was thrown the ball for an over of spin before tea.

He sends down a maiden and Kent have made it to the interval without further damage.

Durham need seven wickets to force a win and have been frustrated by this 59-run partnership between Tawanda Muyeye (41*) and Daniel Bell-Drummond (13*).

The visitors were in disarray at 41-3 in the 13th over of a 66 over-chase but the ship appears to have steadied for now.

In theory Kent need 6.7 an over from here to win it, but that feels a very long way away.

  6. Tea at Cardiffpublished at 15:43 BST

    Glamorgan 302 & 218-5 dec v Yorkshire 226 & 15-1

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Yorkshire are in sight of an unlikely victory after Glamorgan’s generous declaration invited them to score 295 in 68 overs at 4.34 runs an over, which has become 170 off 34.

The experienced pair of Adam Lyth (77 not out) and new recruit Sam Whiteman are looking confident on a pitch which is occasionally keeping low.

The decision to close Glamorgan’s second innings six minutes before the scheduled lunch break surprised most observers, and Finlay Bean showed Yorkshire intentions when he took 10 off the first two balls from first-innings hero Mason Crane.

Bean went lbw to Crane for 23 after a stand of 67 with Lyth, but Glamorgan could not make further inroads before tea.

For the first time in the match, temperatures are giving spectators a pleasant experience rather than one to endure.

  7. Tea at Edgbastonpublished at 15:42 BST

    Warwickshire 544 v Surrey 328 & 390-4

Surrey's batters have dominated in the sunshine on the final day at Edgbaston. Chris Woakes and Ethan Bamber may consider themselves unfortunate not to have taken wickets in the first hour of the day but since then there has been little to get the fielding team excited.

Jamie Smith and Dan Lawrence both reached three figures before Smith was caught in the deep off Rob Yates for 132. Lawrence is still there on 130.

Surrey, leading by 174, are surely safe now and the only question is whether they want to give themselves 30 overs or so to bowl at Warwickshire at the end.

  8. Tea at Derbypublished at 15:41 BST

    Derbyshire 625-8 v Worcestershire 312 & 214-6

This one is still in the balance going into the final session. Derbyshire still have 36 overs left to take the final four wickets and Worcestershire are still 99 behind.

Matthew Waite is digging in to resist and Ethan Brookes is curbing his usual attacking instincts.

After two wickets in the morning session Derbyshire added three between lunch and tea, one apiece to Aitchison, Bashir and Andersson.

Kent 97-3 - need 357 to win at Durham

Tawanda Muyeye wants someone to write in using the Get Involved button suggesting him for the England team, on this showing.

He steps back in his crease to effortlessly carve Kemar Roach away past point for a ninth four to move to 38* from 48 balls.

You can see the confidence returning to his game in the past dozen overs.

MDDX BEAT GLOCS BY AND INNS & 14 RUNSpublished at 15:35 BST

Bell b Zafar 6 (Glocs 215 all out)

Too good for a No 11 ripping through the gate and pinning top of middle and Middx have the win.

Gabe Bell looks disappointed with the dismissal having misjudged the line but it was a good ball to end a terrific performance from the hosts.

Leus du Plooy leads the side off with his 182 in Middlesex's 445-9 declared the standout contribution with the bat.

But Joe Crackell's 97 was equally dominant and Toby Roland-Jones just continued to do what TRJ has done for years with a first innings 5-37 as Glocs were pinned behind the eight ball early.

After being asked to follow-on they were always behind in the game and, in fact, there was not a session that Middx did not win.

Seb Morgan with some reverse swing in his 4-48 and Ryan Higgins with the new ball taking 3-18 proved too good for a succession of Glocs batsmen.

So Middx start with a 22 points win and Glocs have work to do with just a point for their defeat.

Home fixtures for both next week as Middx entertain Worcs here at Lord's and Glocs take on Durham in Bristol.

Kent 88-3 - need 357 to win at Durham

Tawanda Muyeye swivels to pull Kemar Roach away to the deep backward square leg boundary for his eighth boundary to move to 34*.

The youngster has endured a pretty torrid weekend at CLS against this tricky attack but has shown his high class with a few of his shots in the past half-hour.

Daniel Bell-Drummond (8*) and Tawanda Muyeye (30*) have added a very handy 42 from 70 balls to stall the Durham momentum after their fast start.

Alex Lees throws Kemar Roach the ball in an attempt to break the dogged resistance.

Ben Slater brings up his first half-century of the season with a nice clip off his hips to the long leg boundary off former Notts man Jake Ball.

His ninth four from 74 deliveries.

All pretty serene for the champions in the bright sunshine at Taunton, but the target looks increasingly nominal.

Josh de Caires has the breakthrough in his first over even if it is not quite clear how that was out.

It is being given as a catch but Will Williams looks most unimpressed as the Middx players celebrate and the finger goes up.

Looking at the replays, it may have flicked the back pad on its way through but, if that is the case, could easily have been given lbw instead.

It is out whichever way the dog is brushed up and Middx are a wicket away from the win.

With respect to Jacob, England do not have a “number 3 problem”. Jacob Bethel will be England’s number 3 for the next 10 years. If Jamie Smith is going to be considered as an opener then he needs to open for Surrey.

    Chris, Birmingham

A lot of conversation so here is my England lineup for the summer (permitting they're all fit): Rew, Duckett, Smith, Root, Brook, Stokes (C), Foakes (WK), Atkinson, Archer, Carse, Wood. Would like to see Tribe and Rehan as well but there's no room for them! Too much talent!
