Maybe time for Warrington to call it quits if he loses this. A class man but now when enough is enough.

Wood decides to engage and it's a decision that pays dividends. A left hook is followed by a right. Both land.

Warrington needs to counteract that jab to have any chance of winning this, I don’t think he has the power to stop it.

I'd probably still give Wood that round, but there was a slight shift there. Several times Warrington backed up Wood and caught him.

Into the second half of the contest and Wood is still edging it.

The jab continues to be Wood's biggest asset.

  8. Taylor warning for Woodpublished at 22:32 GMT

    Wood v Warrington 2

Former undisputed light-welterweight champion Josh Taylor on X: "Been a great start from Leigh Wood. But I fear that he is going to get caught high when he’s pulling out after he attacks. He is gotta be more careful on his defence when he’s punching."

Wood looks in control of this fight. Warrington throwing plenty but not making enough land and cause Woods a problem.

"Give them something to sing about," is the message from Warrington's corner between rounds.

  11. Round sixpublished at 22:28 GMT

    Wood v Warrington 2

Wood is the one wearing the damage at the moment. As well as the blood from his nose he also has a welt starting to grow under his right eye.

Warrington has only really targeted the head - that might be due to the fact that Wood is keeping his hands low - but he probably needs a bit more output to start taking some of these rounds.

Wood steps in and lands a three-punch combination.

Warrington draws further blood from Wood's nose with a hook but he's only landing with single shots.

We're yet to get the fireworks we hoped for but it's bubbling along nicely.

Wood steps aside from a wild Warrington hook but the Leeds fighter follows with another and finds his chin.

The Nottingham fighter continues to keep his hands low. Warrington only has eight knockouts from his 32 wins - maybe Wood isn't worried about his power?

They meet in the middle and Wood finds a way through with an uppercut.

    Wood v Warrington 2

Wood gets a warning from the referee. Not entirely sure what that was for but we're back under way and Warrington goes straight after him.

Wood is forced on to the ropes as Warrington unloads. The best sequence of the fight.

Warrington sticks out his tongue and then smiles as Wood lands with a looping right.

I think Warrington needs to throw a few more shots and not worry about landing a big left hook. Wood has got the pattern at the moment: elusive, quick shots, move.

    Wood v Warrington 2

    Richie Woodhall
Former boxing world champion on BBC Radio 5 Live

Wood is working very well on the outside. He's slowed the pace down. Warrington is waiting probably a little bit too long. He needs to use his jab a little more. The Nottingham fighter has his hands very, very relaxed and is boxing a very sensible contest.

Wood looks confident with his hands down low and flicking out the jab.

But Warrington comes with intent and lands a heavy left. There is some blood from the nose of Wood and smeared across his cheek.

A smile from Warrington as he comes forward and finds a home with a right hook.

Warrington looks a little bit too fired up for my liking. Wood looks relaxed.
