How to service a snowboard
Waxing irons: John uses a proper waxing iron, but you can also use an old clothes iron that doesn't have any steam vents. These are usually available in charity shops.

Wax: There are lots of different types of wax but we used Universal here. If you are unsure about what to use, just speak to the staff in your local snowboard shop.

Melting the P-Tex

P-Tex: To repair any dings in the base, take a P-Tex candle, set fire to it and drip the melted P-Tex into the ding. Hold the candle close to the board so that the flame burns blue and not orange/yellow (see pic). If you hold it too far away and the flame does begin to burn yellow, the P-Tex will become scorched and go all brown and crispy.

When the P-Tex has dried, scrape off any excess with a metal scraper (see pic). You can also use a Stanley Knife but be very careful not to slice the base.
