Life goes on!

Well the first week of 2007 is nearly over; the christmas decorations have come down, everyone has finally stopped wishing each other a Happy New Year, and the buses are back to normal ( although the same can't be said for the ferries!!)
We don't get much in the way of New Year Sales in the shops as we don't have many High Street names here only Woolies and Superdrug; so they know they've got a captive audience when it comes to people buying stuff. Besides most of the stuff was discounted before Xmas as poor sales seemed to affect the whole country!
Quite a few of the smaller, independent shops close for a few weeks during January or February as there are very few tourists here to make it worth their while being open. They seem to forget that some people live here all year round!!
I hope that some of you saw the recent BBC2 programme "Castle In The Country" about Bute and may consider coming up here sometime (I'd make it the Summer if I was you!!) We'd love to see you!
Happy New Year!!
