Autumn colours and lunches

The humans have been away, off to see the trees or something strange. They said the autumn colours up the Great Glen were trippie… oranges, reds, yellows and lots of it. God, they’ll be knitting yoghurt next! I can only imagine as I’ve only lived on islands where autumn doesn’t happen. One day there are leaves and the next they have gone.

The day they returned was beautiful and I managed a quick snap of their boat.

No idea if it’s actually their boat or if it belongs to some ancient race of water travellers. As a simple cat I just don't do water. Still, LOTI looked nice against Mull as she swept into Arinagour. And just to the right was a moody bit of light on and behind Fladda (photo) and Lunga.

I hear lots of birdies nest there in burrows. They must be particularly dumb and easy to catch, perhaps there is something in boats after all. I bet the cats there are fatter than even Tutti and Fruiti from the hotel !

Talk of the moment is the influx of thrush like things from Iceland (even though Iceland’s a banned word).. I’m told they’re redwings. And waxwings from the east.

I like waxwings cos they’re pretty, not that I really care what my food looks like. It’s the flavour and easy of catch that really matters.

Hello Ming :-)
So nice to hear a blog from a Cat's perspective.I have 4 cats myself, who moved all the way from Worcestershire ( 12 hours in the back of a box van). They tell me that Mull is just the Cats goonads and were enquiering into any career oppotunities in professional mouse tourturing or keeping-your-masters-awake -all -night-scampering. ?

I LOVE those nice fat little birds you have there where you live! We don't have anything quite that yummy here, except maybe Orioles. Sadly, I am an indoor cat because there are coyotes, mountain lions and bears where I live here in the mountains, so I must content myself with looking at fat little birds through windows or on the internet.

Your our hero Ming, do you have a fan club? We've been staying in the last two days as these daft humans have been letting of their terrible fireworks, we couldn't even antagonise the Jack Russel next door, lots of love, Mitsy & Holly xx ps. My sister says I look just look like you, Ming, Mitsy xxx

I very much like the look of your land, very open and free... here we've only lizards, pigeons and crows, you ever try sneaking up on a crow in a 40 year old sycamore? it takes some serious skill...and we've already done away with most of the lizards...heh. Our denmates always annoy us to come in after dark, so that we haven't yet had a real chance at any of the possums. They seem to have some foolish idea that we couldn't take it! Do come and visit, we'll have our people share our favorite beef and salmon jerky with you. (bring one or two of the wee waxwings when you come...)

Aki, and my sister C'ead from Orange, so.calif.
