About Ken Stott
Ken Stott is a well-known Scottish actor of stage and screen.
Ken theatre work includes appearances in The Recruiting Officer, The Princess Play, A View from the Bridge, God of Carnage, Uncle Vanya, and Broken Glass at the National Theatre and the Duke of York’s Theatre, for which he won the 1995 Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
Ken has also had a successful film career. His early film credits include Queen & Country (1998), Shallow Grave (1994) and The Boxer (1997). More recently, he has appeared in Charlie Wilson’s War (2007), The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008), and Peter Jackson’s hit trilogy The Hobbit (2010-14),
Ken received two BAFTA nominations for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performances in The Vice (1999) and Hancock & Joan (2008).
He is best known to television audiences for his portrayal of the title character ‘DI John Rebus’ in series 3-5 of Rebus (2006-7). He also appeared in The Singing Detective (1986) and ITV’s Messiah: The Harrowing (2001).
He will soon appear alongside Simon Pegg in Man Up.
