About Émilie Dequenne
Émilie Dequenne is a Belgian actress, appearing mostly in French films. She stunned critics with her debut performance in the Palme d’Or winning film Rosetta (1999), and won the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival for this role.
She next appeared as ‘Marianne’ in Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001) starring alongside Vincent Cassel, Monica Belluci and Samuel Le Bihan. The role brought Émilie to the attention of international audiences and she went on to secure roles in Andre Techine’s La Fille du RER (2009), opposite Catherine Deneuve, and The Pack (2010) which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
In 2012 Émilie’s portrayal of ‘Murielle’ in the film Our Children earned her the Un Certain Regard Award for Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival. She also won a Magritte Award and was nominated for a Satellite Award in the same category.
Émilie can most recently be seen in the 2014 French films Divin Enfant and Pas Son Genre.
