Emily Hughes

Emily Hughes is Tony’s wife and a loving mother to their son, Oliver, whose disappearance leaves her on the verge of a mental breakdown. While she has attempted to move on with her life in the wake of the tragedy, the re-opening of the investigation into Oliver’s disappearance threatens to once again emotionally engulf her.

About Frances O'Connor

British-born Frances O’Connor grew up in Australia where she attended the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.

Frances made her film debut in the independent romantic comedy, Love and Other Catastrophes (1996), for which she received her first AACTA (Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts) nomination. She went on to star opposite Cate Blanchett and Richard Roxburgh in Thank God He Met Lizzie (1997). In 1999 Frances starred as ‘Fanny Price’ in an adaptation of Jane Austen’s Mansfield Park and earned a Golden Globe nomination for her performance as ‘Emma Bovary’ in the BBC’s adaptation of Madame Bovary (2000).

These performances led to the beginning of a career in Hollywood, with roles in Bedazzled (2000), Steven Spielberg’s A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001) and an adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest (2002) in which starred alongside British favourites, Rupert Everett, Colin Firth and Dame Judi Dench.

Frances also appeared alongside Hilary Swank, Julia Ormond and Anjelica Huston in the independent film Iron Jawed Angels (2004), and earned further AACTA nominations for The Hunter (2011), Three Dollars (2005). Frances won an AACTA for her role in Blessed (2009).

Frances was recently seen starring as ‘Rose Selfridge’ in the ITV period drama Mr. Selfridge.
