He trained at college in London and later learned his trade working at two Michelin starred Le Gavroche, at La Trompette, and also for Theo Randall. He later spent time working in the kitchens at the House of Commons.

No stranger to competitive cooking, Ben has won numerous accolades including Northern Ireland’s prestigious Robbie Millar Scholarship, beating fellow Great British Menu newcomer Danni Barry in the process. He has also represented Great Britain in the World Culinary Olympics.

Since it opened two years ago, with Ben at the helm, Home has earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand.

This is his first time in the competition and his menu is inspired by his mum. His take on the brief reflects his passion for honest food made with local produce.
