Jimmy Lee

Currently head chef at his restaurant Lychee Oriental in Glasgow, Jimmy trained under his father in the family takeaway business before setting up his own venture in October 2012

Jimmy has won local awards including Best Oriental Establishment at Glasgow Awards 2015, Best Newcomer at the Glasgow Restaurant Awards 2012 and Best Asian Restaurant in Scotland 2013.

His style of cooking is a fine dining approach to Cantonese cuisine, based on the traditional techniques that he learnt from his parents, who emigrated from Hong Kong in the sixties, combined with a local twist.

This is his first time in the competition, and his menu fuses traditional Chinese techniques with great Scottish produce, and is inspired by his Mother’s home cooking.
