Richard Dreyfuss is an American actor who rose to prominence in the late 1960s and 70s starring in films such as George Lucas’s American Graffiti and Steven Spielberg’s Jaws.

Steven Spielberg cast Dreyfuss again in Close Encounters of the Third Kind because of the childlike sensibility he brought to the role.
