Kate is Chief Film Critic at The Times and she was previously a features writer in Washington, New York and Paris for the paper.

Kate has written three novels: Left Bank, West Coast and Suffragette City and a non-fiction book on female soldiers entitled 'Arms and the Woman'.
She has also worked for Women and Hollywood, a campaigning group for more women in film.
Her favourite movie is I Know Where I'm Going (Powell and Pressburger) and if she had to cast someone to play her it would be Frances McDormand, the heroine of Fargo and Olive Kitteridge.
