Mark is head chef at Marcus Wareing’s two Michelin starred restaurant, Marcus.

Originally from Essex, Mark started his career working in a local restaurant at the tender age of 16, leading him to study full-time at catering college.

He gained experience at Gordon Ramsay’s Maze under multi-starred chef Jason Atherton before settling in as protégé to Great British Menu veteran Marcus Wareing, boots he has filled for seven years.

This is Mark’s first time in the competition and he’s taken inspiration from family traditions to hit the WI brief, with a menu that showcases some classic British dishes.
