Mark Poynton
Mark owns the Alimentum which currently holds a Michelin star.
Mark Poynton started his culinary career aged 15 working part-time as a waiter in the Queen Hotel Chester. Within six months he'd moved into the kitchen under executive chef Ian McDowall.
He then undertook an 18 month stint with Paul Kitching at the Juniper restaurant in Altrincham, followed by seven years with two Michelin-starred Daniel Clifford at Midsummer House in Cambridge.
In 2009, Mark took his first head chef position up the road at Alimentum, taking over the business in 2010. Alimentum currently holds a Michelin star and three AA rosettes.
Mark’s menu is a journey though food from the soldiers leaving home to their arrival on the beaches of Normandy.
