Regula Mühlemann

I was born in Lucerne and studied at the Conservatory there. Roles I performed in Lucerne included Barbarina Le nozze di Figaro and Papagena Die Zauberflöte. In 2012 I made my debut at the Salzburg Festival, singing the young Papagena in P. v. Winter’s Das Labyrinth.

I have performed in several European houses, including Giannetta L'elisir d'amore at Zurich Opera and in Baden-Baden, where I have also appeared as Papagena with Sir Simon Rattle and the Berlin Philharmonic. In 2012 I sang Despina Così fan tutte at Teatro la Fenice and in 2013 I sang Isolier Le Comte Ory at Theater an der Wien.

I have also made two movies – singing Ännchen in Hunter’s Bride and Amore in Gluck’s Orfeo. This season I make my debut at De Nederlandse Opera singing Papagena and Gretel Hänsel und Gretel in Torino. Future engagements include Barbarina in concert with Bryn Terfel, Zerlina Don Giovanni and Mozart’s Mass in C minor in Gstaad and concerts with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.

I enjoy travelling and I love cooking and fashion – my mother and I design and make my concert dresses. For two years I wrote a column for a Swiss newspaper, until work got too busy.
