Get to know: Libby Akerman
The Worcestershire born musician shares her secrets for song-writing and penning amazing lyrics. We crowned Willersley's Libby Akerman as our Artist Of The Week!
Libby comes from a small village near Broadway in Worcestershire, moving to study at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts. Most recently she participated in a song-writing camp in Morocco, with Tile Yard studios, in Marrakesh.
Drawing influences from artists including Carole King, Libby shares how she writes based on specific moments in time and memories.
When she's not recording amazing tracks herself, or performing with us, such as at the Hay Festival Winter Weekend, she can be found as a sports coach teaching rowing, as a music coach teaching singing, or in local bars and pubs (most likely singing!).
